"Monsters: Loving What We Fear" a presentation by Dr. Frances Auld

Monsters have always frightened and excited the human imagination. They are as ageless as our ability to dream and as real as our fear of the dark.

Explore how and why people fear these ancient fantastical creatures, as well as their relationship to contemporary literature and film. What do they symbolize and why do they persist?

Frances B. Auld has a Ph.D. in British Literature, Medieval and Gothic, Cultural Studies/Horror from University of South Florida. She has previously taught at the University of Wisconsin-Baraboo/Sauk County.

This event is open to adults and teens. No registration is required. It will be held in the library auditorium on Tuesday, October 13, at 6:00 PM.
